Microwave Bread and Butter Pickles Recipe
Slice cucumbers into rings and place them into a clean mason jar.
Cut a small white onion in half, slice it into thin strips and place the onion strips into the mason jar.
Add 1 teaspoon mustard seeds, teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, teaspoon celery seed, 1 small stick of cinnamon, 2 whole allspice berries, 2 whole cloves, 1/8 teaspoon turmeric,1 pinch ground allspice and 1 pinch ground cloves into the jar with the cucumber and onion.
Pour 1 cup water, 1 cups white vinegar and 1 cups apple cider vinegar into a Pyrex measuring cup. Place the measuring cup into the microwave oven and cook for 4 to 4 minutes. Microwave cooking times vary, keep an eye on the liquid and cook it in the microwave until it comes to a boil.
Put on a pair of oven mitts.
Remove the Pyrex measuring cup from the microwave and add 1 cup of sugar. Stir the mixture until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Pour the mixture into the jar with cucumbers, onions and spices until the liquid covers the cucumber slices. If you are short on liquid, add boiling water to the jar until the slices are covered with liquid.

Place the jar into the microwave and cook the cucumber slices for 3 to 3 minutes on the highest setting.
Put on the oven mitts and take the mason jar out of the microwave.
Keep the plastic wrap in place on top of the jar and immediately screw the lid on over the plastic wrap.
