"Be the Change" for the Animals in Your Life
by Carrie Boyko, CEB
The All Things Dog Blog staff of one headed out to Denver last week for the first annual Blogpaws West 2010 conference, with a goal of meeting other bloggers, learning more about what I do, and solidifying my vision for All Things Dog Blog.
What an experience it was. I attended lectures and hands on learning sessions, listened to emotional speeches, snuggled up to a few new furry friends, collected tons of goodies to give away here, and met my idol, Paris Permenter.
Now I am home, overwhelmed with inspiration and stuff to share with you--my readers. The biggest thing I want to share is that you, too, can "Be the Change"--the motto for this year's conference.
Our goal of raising funds for rescues was enormously successful and each of us was challenged to return to our respective homes and blogs, vowing to do what we see as the change that is needed.
My passion for socializing dogs has always revolved around dog parks and doggie daycares, where dogs can learn the language of a good Bow Wow Boy. It is that passion that got me started with my fledgling site, Adopt a Dog Park. I believe it is time to really begin to form a vision for this goal--A dog park for every community
and a
community for every dog park
I'll be working on a better website and writing more about the importance of socialization at an early age, as well as ways to accomplish this goal.
You can help assure that your dog park stays open during these tough economic times by assisting with the cleanup, to do your part to contribute when your town cannot find funds for maintenance. It's up to us all to keep our dog parks open by helping in any way we can.
If you'd like to officially adopt your dog park in your dog's name, write to me at [email protected]. I'll be happy to show off your furry friend on the site, and proud to have you stand by me in this effort. Together, we can all be the change.
