HELP CATCH WHOEVER DID THIS!

9/3/09

The ginger tabby, 4, wandered back home to his owner in Monroe County, Indiana, with the 13 inch arrow pierced through his flesh after disappearing for three days. He only lived because the weapon pierced his muscles but skimmed over the top of his skull. "The arrow went through his head to his left ear. It's a miracle it didn't go through his skull," said Sarah Hayes, Monroe County Humane Association, which has been caring for the cat. “It’s just horrible, and whoever did this, they need to be charged.”

Vets who treated Brownie said the level of infection in his wounds suggested he had been shot at least two days before he returned home. He had surgery to remove the arrow and is expected to make a full recovery. Casey Shake, who treated Brownie, said: “I have never seen anything quite like that. It was definitely bizarre. “The next day that cat was amazing,” he said. "Brownie was purring, ready to eat and drink, and wanted love." Dylan Eads, Brownie's owner, is hoping the culprit who shot the cat will be caught.

He said: "They can shoot at beer cans if they want target practice. They shouldn't be shooting at someone's cat." A $1,100 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for injuring Brownie.
